A volunteering experience should be one that offers growth in a safe environment for all involved. As a first time volunteer abroad in 2014, I was fortunate to have an incredible experience that aided in learning about myself and building relations with those whom I was sharing time with. The Nepal Friendship Society of Chitwan, Bhatapur - 11 was a remarkable foundation for just that creation. Trust, safety, support, friendship and sharing of culture are the building blocks for a successful volunteering experience.
