 Clean up Nepal invites people across the nation to participate in its Fifth Annual Nationwide Cleanup on September 16, 2017 between 7 am – 9 am.

 

This year, the nationwide cleanup will be held on 31 Bhadra 2074 from 7am to 9am as part of the ‘Clean Up the World’ global campaign. This year various personalities and organizations like Manisha Koirala, Loonibha Tuladhar, KUTUMBA, Australian Ambassador in Nepal, ROTARACT, Nepal Red Cross Society, Scientology Volunteer Ministers, Nepalese Youth for Climate Action, Let’s Do It World, Nepal Friendship Society, SOS Children’s Villages and many others are endorsing and participating in the Clean up Nepal 2017 Annual Nationwide Cleanup Campaign.

 The Nationwide Cleanup Day provides individuals, communities, and organizations a unified platform to clean up streets, rivers and public spaces to improve their immediate environment through positive action and increased awareness. This year the nationwide cleanup emphasizes on litter free neighborhoods and waste segregation at its source.

 The nationwide cleanup event is in its fifth year and is supported by the Australian embassy. The event started with 15 000 individuals in 2013 and has since mobilized over 100 000 people to collect 520 000 kilos of waste at 350 locations in 36 districts throughout Nepal. This campaign is affiliated to Clean up the World, one of the world’s largest community based environmental campaigns. It engages an estimated 35 million volunteers in 130 countries each year.
